JANE EYRE by CHARLOTTE BRONTE

JANE EYRE by CHARLOTTE BRONTE

Jane Eyre (originally published as Jane Eyre: An Autobiography) is a novel by English writer Charlotte Bronte, published under the pen name "Currer Bell", on 16 October 1847.

This is my favorite classic novel of all time. It’s persistently beautiful, articulately written, daringly progressive, and a terrific romance to help. Eyre was one of the first literary female protagonists to command identification of feminine fortitude, wit, and desire.

MY FAVORITE QUOTES

“I have a strange feeling with regard to you. As if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly knotted to a similar string in you. And if you were to leave I’m afraid that cord of communion would snap. And I have a notion that I’d take to bleeding inwardly. As for you, you’d forget me.”

“I desired more...than was within my reach. Who blames me? Many call me discontented. I couldn’t help it: the restlessness is in my nature; it agitated me to pain sometimes.”

“It is a pity that doing one’s best does not always answer.”

“I would always rather be happy than dignified.”
